About InnerOptimized
Your inner environment — your sleep, your gut, your nervous system, your mindset — determines your outer experience far more than most people realize.
Fix what's happening inside, and a lot of what felt hard on the outside starts to soften. Not through willpower. Not through a 47-step morning routine. Through understanding your own biology and psychology, and working with them instead of against them.
InnerOptimized is writing on sleep, gut health, mindset, nervous system regulation, and the small daily choices that compound into a life that genuinely feels good. Science-backed where the science is solid, honest where it isn't. No toxic positivity. No wellness hype. Just real things that work, explained in plain language.
Behind the scenes
I'm Hanny Trần. And I've been quietly obsessed with high quality of being alive since I was 18. Not in a rigid, tracking-every-calorie way. Not in a "no pain no gain" way. Just — genuinely, curiously obsessed with what it means to feel alive in your body and clear in your mind.
It didn't come from my parents. Nobody handed me a wellness routine or pushed me toward healthy habits. Growing up, we were a normal family. Normal food. Normal life.
But when I left home for university, something shifted. I started being more active. Running.Hiking. Swimming. Biking. Noticing how my body felt after a good night's sleep versus a bad one, after a meal cooked at home versus grabbed on the run. I started reading — about psychology, about the mind, about why some people seem to move through life with ease while others feel constantly depleted.
Everything started falling into place around 18. And honestly, nothing I've ever done has returned more consistently — more quietly, more reliably — than investing in my own inner health.
My background
I hold a Master's degree in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology from the University of East London. Most of what I write here comes from lived experience first, research second. The degree gave me a framework. My own body and mind gave me the material.
I'm based in Đà Nẵng, Vietnam — a laid-back, sunny coastal city that moves at a pace most of the world has forgotten. Living here has shaped how I think about wellness. Away from the pressure of hustle culture, with access to fresh food, warm weather, and a gentler rhythm of ocean waves, I've been able to experiment with what actually works — not what looks good in a morning routine reel.
At date I wrote this page (27/04/2026) I'm also pregnant at my second trimester, which has added an entirely new layer to everything I thought I knew about listening to my body. Everything I do is no longer for myself, but from now on, I take responsiblity for 2 lives. I can't be the same.
🌐 hannytran.dev ↗My Vietnamese name is Trần Gia Hân — it means the sunshine of the family. I like to think this space carries a little of that energy too.
